Just as a follow-up to yesterday's post. I wanted to take the opportunity to say that I am extremely proud of our boys and the way that they are running right now.
As of yesterday's dual meet, we significantly tightened up our gaps and closed in on Shenendehowa (currently ranked 14th AA) Our 1-5 spread = 47 seconds (down from 53 in just a few days). While this doesn't seem that signifnicant at first glance, given the following information it is quite a feat!
Congratulations to Andrew Coy - beating Ian Dorset (Shen #1 / NY #49) and Chris Collier (Beth #1 / NY#40) for the first time this season with a personal best of 16:00 flat. This time places Mr. Coy 14th all-time on Saratoga since the course was created in 1984. He now sits nicely between Mike Jurczynski (1999) and Andy Rickert (1996) - with 3 more opportunities on the course. His 3rd place finish behind Sam Place (Toga #1 / NY#4) & Kyle Wegner (Toga #2 / NY#27) should have actually increased our 1-5 spread, but the other boys did well to keep the pack together!
Today we will begin introducing some more speed and intensity to the workouts as we approach Manhattan and its notoriously fast start and finish. Even missing 3 of the top 7 going into this race, I am confident that we will see some good times from all of our runners.
