Last Friday was another great day for the Dutchmen as they close in on the end of the season and hopefully some great races. The boys finished 2nd in Varsity and JV to strong nationally ranked Shaker teams, but managed to defeat Bethlehem and Colonie who were both in the hunt for 2nd. This run puts the boys team at AA#20 in the State rankings.
Andrew Coy (16:04) landed 4th All-time, between former runners Justin Wager and Roland Graves, while Nico Turek (16:37) and Austin Miller (16:51) placed 12th and 16th on the top 25 list. Several of the JV and Varsity boys PR'd despite having a full week of tough workouts including 12x400 meter intervals on Wednesday. I know that they will perform at their highest level when they are rested, recovered and peaked in the next week.
Our frosh also had an excellent day taking 2nd place in a narrow 3 point loss to Colonie. Knute Armstrong, Pranav Nayak, Matt Pasquali, Jon Feil and Jack Jurczynski ALL placed on the top 25 list, taking over spots 6, 12, 14, 16, & 20. The future looks terrific if these boys keep working at it!
Keep posted for Suburban Councils on Saturday!
